BROOKHAVEN INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AGENCY CLOSES ON
WAREHOUSE IN SHIRLEY AIMED AT SMALLER BUSINESSES

FARMINGVILLE, NY (Nov. 29, 2023) – Frederick C. Braun III, Chairman of the Town of Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency (IDA), announced that the Agency has closed on an agreement to provide economic development incentives for a warehouse proposed in Shirley designed to attract small- and medium-sized businesses.

The benefits agreement with September Morning LLC closed on November 29. The IDA approved the project at its Oct. 23 meeting.

September Morning plans to build a 78,400-square-foot warehouse at a cost of $14.5 million on 6.14 acres of vacant land on Ramsay Road in the Shirley Industrial Park. The proposed warehouse is designed for two or three small to medium distribution companies. The project is expected to generate 54 construction jobs.

“This is a unique kind of project that other developers have not considered and it provides an opportunity that we cannot let get by,” said Braun. “It will provide modern facilities for the smaller businesses, many of them home- grown, that are the mainstay of the industrial community in the Town of Brookhaven and across Long Island who now occupy older, obsolete buildings.”
