Manufacturer expanding in Yaphank

Framerica Corp, a manufacturer of architectural mouldings for flooring and picture frames, is expanding in Yaphank.

The company plans to open a new location at 19 Nicholas Drive in Yaphank, and purchase equipment. The company already two locations, one at 2 Todd Court in Yaphank, the other at 885 Waverly Avenue in Holtsville.

The Nicholas Drive location is currently a multi-tenant vacant warehouse space and will be used for manufacturing, warehousing and shipping of products. Framerica will be leasing 84,500 sq. feet of the 232,000 sq. feet of the premises. The project will add 16 new employees over a two-year period.

The company is working with the Town of Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency, which recently closed on an economic development incentives package for the company.

“After investigating other areas of the country , we are pleased that with the support of the Brookhaven IDA we are able to keep and grow our business here on Long Island,” Gordon Van Vechten, co-founder of the company, said in a statement.

“Encouraging manufacturing, jobs and growth here in Brookhaven is our priority and purpose,” Frederick Braun III, chairman of the Town of Brookhaven IDA, said in a statement. “We are pleased to continue our long standing relationship with Framerica and that they will continue to provide employment opportunities for Long Islanders and the residents of the Town of Brookhaven.”
