BROOKHAVEN INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AGENCY CLOSES ON ECONOMIC BENEFITS FOR ANGELA’S HOUSE PLANNED FOR MEDFORD

Farmingville, NY (January 2020) — Frederick C. Braun III, chairman of the Town of Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency (IDA) announced that the agency has recently closed on economic development incentives benefits for a Long Island-based non-profit organization that cares for children with special medical needs.

Angela’s House Foundation sought IDA assistance to utilize the retail space at 2052 Route 112 in Medford to operate a facility for medically frail children. The building located at the site was formerly occupied by Gallery Furniture.

Angela’s House is a subsidiary of Independent Group Home Living Program. The organization assist families caring for children with special health needs who are medically fragile, chronically ill or suffering from a life-threatening illness. The agency was founded by the Policastro family over 25 years ago following a personal tragedy involving their daughter Angela.

“Not only will this project help us fulfill our mission, but it will also add new jobs to the community,” said Robert Policastro

“This will remove one more vacant building and eyesore from the Brookhaven landscape, while also providing a much-needed service,” said Braun.
