BROOKHAVEN INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AGENCY CLOSES ON LONG-TERM LEASE FOR TOWN HALL ROOFTOP SOLAR-POWER INSTALLATION

BROOKHAVEN, NY (Jan. 14, 2020) – Frederick C. Braun, III, chairman of the Town of Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency, announced that the agency has closed on a package of economic incentives and a long-term lease agreement with ACE-Town Hall Solar 2, LLC, for a solar-power installation on the rooftop of Brookhaven Town Hall in Brookhaven.

The incentives and long-term lease agreement, which closed on January 13, 2020, was approved at the August meeting of the Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency. The benefits will apply to the construction of a $2.1 million dollar, 960kW solar array, to include over 2,500, 375-watt rooftop solar panels. ACE-Town Hall Solar 2 has a power purchase agreement with PSEG-L.I.

“This project will continue our reputation of fortifying our power systems in a sustainable way for the future. We are pleased that this project will get underway and are excited to bring our town the most contemporary and efficient means of energy acquisition for the future,” said Braun.
